Tina
Receptionist, Inventory Manager
When Tina adopted her first dog, Tasha, she witnessed firsthand how many shelter pets there are who need homes. The emotional experience triggered a desire to choose a career that would allow Tina to work with animals in some way. At Tasha’s first vet visit, Tina learned of an opening for a groomer. It was the perfect opportunity, and a serendipitous moment that would launch a 30-year career in pet grooming.
Tina has been with Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital since its inception. She had worked with Dr. Harper at a previous practice and was thrilled to continue working together at her new clinic. As our receptionist and inventory manager, Tina enjoys keeping the practice organized, opening the hospital every morning, and interacting with clients and their pets.
Outside of work, Tina is mom to three boys who are her whole world, as well as four grandchildren that she adores. Her fur family includes a goofy Carolina/wild dog mix named Cane and a Labrador/hound mix named Jayda, who is laid back but does like to talk when spoken to. Tina’s favorite pastimes include sports, being outdoors, watching movies, and spending quality time with her family.
Brittany
Veterinary Assistant
Like many veterinary professionals, Brittany always had a soft spot for pets of all shapes and sizes. When it came time to choose a career path, one option stood out above all the rest: veterinary medicine. For Brittany, nothing beats getting to use her drive and dedication to help the earth’s creatures—and the people who care for them—feel their absolute best. She’s a Veterinary Technician with the Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital family!
Brittany joined the world of veterinary medicine in the summer of 2016 and became a member of the Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital team that September. She never tires of getting to work alongside a passionate team of animal-lovers just like herself, and she loves to see new puppies and kittens on their first visits to the hospital. An added bonus for Brittany is that she gets to bring her own dogs to the clinic’s Day Camp when she comes to work!
When she’s not helping pets and animal parents here at the hospital, Brittany enjoys exploring the great outdoors, relaxing at the beach or the lake, visiting new places, and spending quality time with her family. At home, Brittany shares her life with several pets: Lilly the loving Pit Bull, a Husky mix named Sebastian, an orange tabby cat who goes by Mowgli, and a tuxedo cat named Zoey.
Lydia
Veterinary Assistant
Growing up on a farm in western North Carolina, Lydia has been surrounded by animals her entire life. Even from a very young age, she always had a soft spot for those who are vulnerable and unable to advocate for themselves. After watching a young calf struggle with disabilities, Lydia decided that from then on, she would do whatever she could to support animals and help them live their best lives. A career in the veterinary industry provided the perfect opportunity to do just that!
Lydia’s journey began right here at Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital, at the age of 15. She started as a kennel attendant and worked her way up to the role of veterinary technician. Clinically, Lydia enjoys working on complicated cases and feeling that sense of accomplishment that comes with getting to the root cause of a problem. She also loves building relationships with our clients and getting to know their furry family members on a more personal level.
Outside of the clinic, Lydia lives with her wonderful husband, Josh, and their sweet pup, Alister. When she’s not busy working, you will likely find Lydia spending time outside, enjoying nature and all of God’s creations.
Amanda
Veterinary Assistant
Amanda grew up here in Wake Forest with her parents and many pets. Being an only child, all of the animals she had throughout the years truly felt like family to her. This upbringing sparked a deep interest in everything animal-related, so when it came time to make a career choice, becoming a veterinary technician seemed like the perfect fit!
While Amanda’s degree from ECU may be in psychology and criminal justice, a job as a kennel technician would ultimately change her path. She knew she needed to follow her passion, so in 2022, she became a veterinary technician and joined the Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital team in August of 2023. Amanda’s favorite part of the job is working with new puppies and kittens and seeing them grow with every appointment. She also enjoys the challenge of more complex cases.
Outside of work, Amanda still resides in Wake Forest with her boyfriend Nic, her best friend Link, who is an Australian Shepherd, and her sweet kitty, Daphne. Link loves to go crazy at the dog park but also can’t resist a good nap with Amanda. Daphne loves to play with anything and adores her Temptations cat treats.
Brandi
Office Administration
Brandi’s love for animals started as a young child and became an integral facet of her life. From as early as the tender age of three, she began bringing home stray cats and dogs. As she got older, she fell more in love with caring for all kinds of pets as well as the humans that keep them.
A strong believer in loving and rescuing animals, she put that love into action and began a career as a veterinary technician in 2002. As a mother herself, she instills that same love for animals in her family. She knows there’s more to caring for pets than just their immediate needs and she now brings her passion forward when she handles office administration duties for Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital. She is very likely the first face you may see when you bring your beloved pet in for care.
Brandi is always surrounded with animals and keeps several rescued fur babies at all times. Today, you can find her sharing her home with her five cats Delilah, Gemma, Romeo, and Judas, and also her dog Maui. She brings her experience and love with her each day as a valued member of the Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital team. She looks forward to getting to know our amazing clients and their precious pets.
Macon
Office Manager
Macon was born for veterinary medicine. In fact, he was actually born right here at Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital. In exchange for room and board, Macon began taking on some of the office duties. He showed great potential and took such pride in his work that a promotion to Office Manager was the logical next step.
One of Macon’s favorite things to do is to sit on the keyboards and beg for treats. If the phone is ringing, he really likes to get in the way. He knows his colleagues really enjoy it when he does that and it gives him a great deal of satisfaction, knowing that he’s making the workplace so much more enjoyable for everyone. He also likes encouraging our canine patients to vocalize their affection for him. One of his favorite hobbies is randomly turning off computers when people are using them.
Macon’s family includes the staff at Tuscan Ridge Animal Hospital, as well as his sister, Georgia. He has a pet dragon named Mushinda who loves it when he sleeps on top of her terrarium. He’s hoping they fix the broken screen on top soon. He has no idea how it got broken.
